Course Overview
This course is suitable for those involved in the monitoring of the assessment processes and decisions within an organisation and helping to maintain and improve the quality of the workplace assessment. It is specifically designed for those who carry out the internal quality assurance of the assessment processes in accordance with external quality assurance requirements. It involves carrying out internal verification or auditing of assessments, supporting assessors through feedback and ensuring consistency in the assessment process.
Unlike previous awards it does not require the candidate to be directly involved with the external quality assurance process and does not require responsibility for the overall management of the quality assurance system.
The award will develop knowledge and skills in preparing for, planning and carrying out planned monitoring of the quality of assessment in the workplace.
Who should attend this course?
The Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice qualifications are for all internal verifiers of regulated qualifications such as N/SVQs, other workplace qualifications or in-company standards.

Entry requirements
Candidates must have a job role that includes monitoring and supporting assessment processes and decisions in an organisation, helping to maintain and improve the quality of workplace assessment and demonstrate their contributions towards a quality assurance process that meets external requirements. Each candidate must have access in the workplace to two qualified assessors for the purpose of their verification activities while working towards this award.

How will I be assessed?
Candidates will compile a portfolio of evidence of competence, based on the work practice and knowledge requirements of the award.
Candidates will also have to be observed carrying out part of the verification process by a PEDL assessor and taking part in standardisation meetings with other internal verifiers and assessors in their workplace.
